As soon as I reach Lucknow, I am going to eat all these things that are shown in the list below :-

  • Tea and Bunmakhan.

Where :- Sharma Ji ki Chai, Hazratganj, Lucknow.

A very popular chai with bunmakhan at Sharma Ji ki Chai. It is one of the most renowned place for having chai. People make the long waiting lines in the early morning to have a cup of tea and try different eateries like bunmakhan, samosa. Ambience doesn't hold a point at this place, though the place has a charm. Do try it. Highly recommended.

  • Khasta.

Where :- Rattilal's, Behind Petrol Pump, Purania, Aliganj, Lucknow.

The khasta at Rattilal's is a famous point to have a morning breakfast in Lucknow. The Khasta is super crispy, chhole was spicy and damn tasty. Do try the Jalebi at this place. Highly recommended.

  • Puri Thali.

Where :- Netram Ajay Kumar, Aminabad, Lucknow.

Try the famous Puri thali in the breakfast at Netram Ajay Kumar. You will be served Puri with aloo matar, khatta meetha chutney, sukha aloo, boondi raita, urad ki kachori. The place is 166 years old and still the taste is same as before. Highly recommended.

  • Dahi Vada.

Where :- GPO ke Dahi Bade, Narpat Khera, Lucknow.

GPO ke Dahi Bade was started somehow 20 years ago by Sur Pal Singh and at present, it is one of the best selling dahi bade shop in Lucknow. The Dahi Vada looks like an old puny kiosk which houses a few chairs and tables and honestly, the taste of their thande-meethe dahi bade makes up for the crammed ambiance.

You can also try the famous Dahi Samosa at this place as it is favorite of mass people visiting this shop.

  • Basket Chat.

Where :- Royal Cafe, Opposite Sahu Cinema, Hazratganj, Lucknow.

The basket chat from Royal Cafe in Lucknow is one of the most iconic eateries which has a colossal cult following in and around the city. Along with the basket chat, the Aloo Tikki at this place is also popular. Do try both the items. Highly recommended.

  • Chhole Bhature.

Where :- Sardar Ji ke Chhole Bhature, Near Novelty Cinema, Lalbagh, Lucknow.

Delhi jaisa chhole bhature is available in Lucknow at Sardar Ji ke Mashoor Chhole Bhature. The taste of the chhole bhature is same as Delhi's chhole bhature. Do try this if you love chhole bhature and if you are in Lucknow.

  • Aloo Tikki Chaat.

Where :- Jain Chaat Bhandar, Lucknow.

The aloo tikki at Jain Chaat Bhandar is one of the oldest chaat shop in the city and the most crowded by the chaat lovers. Do try the amazing lip-smacking aloo tikki at this place. Highly recommended.

  • Dahi Patase.

Where :- Shukla Chaat Bhandar, Hazratganj, Lucknow.

Hazratganj is one of the oldest and busiest areas of the city. In a smaller by-lane, around 100 metres inside, the eatery is hard to miss. It is manned by an old man sitting next to the skillet frying up to the matar chaat and the aloo tikki along with rows of leaf plates ready with batasa to be eaten. The eatery is quite clear in their mind about their specialities deciding to have only 3 items on the menu (all done verbally) - matar chaat, aloo tikki and batasa.

  • Bhelpuri.

Where :- 1090 Gomtinagar, Lucknow.

Try this Bhelpuri at 1090 Gomtinagar which is perfectly tangy and spicy. Highly recommended.

  • Chinese Thali.

Where :- Cook's n Fan's Food Truck, Near Gol Chauraha, Mahanagar, Lucknow.

The chinese thali comparises of garlic noodles and steam momos served with red and green chutney. Do try this if you love to eat south indian. The price per plate is Rs.130/-

  • Galouti Kebab.

Where :- Tunday Kababi, Saharaganj Mall, Hazratganj, Lucknow.

The mouth-watering Awadhi cuisine from Tunday Kababi is one of the most try dish when you are in Lucknow. The place is serving since 1905. It is said to incorporate 160 spices. It is so delicious that after eating this it melts in mouth. Therefore, it is also called “The taste of Nawabs". You can have it with paratha or rumali roti.

You can also try out Chicken Korma, Mutton Rogan with Sheermal and Mughlai Paratha. Highly recommended.

  • Mushroom Tandoori Momos.

Where :- Fat Dumpling Momos, 1090 Gomtinagar, Lucknow.

The price per plate is Rs.70/- The taste is very good. Must try this. Highly recommended.

  • Mutton Biryani.

Where :- Idris ki Biryani, Pata Nala Police Station, Raja Bazar, Chowk, Lucknow.

Someone has rightly said that, “some of the best food is not served in classy restaurant, but they are actually found on the street side eateries. And I had this mutton biryani at this famous shop which was started in 1968. The biryani looked very appetizing, the aroma, the light delicate texture, the juicy pieces of meat were so perfect in taste. Must try it. Highly recommended. The price per plate mutton biryani is Rs.140/-

  • Butter Chicken.

Where :- Dastarkhwan, Opp. Tulsi Theatre, Lucknow.

The lip-smacking butter chicken at Dastarkhwan with Mughlai Paratha is one of the must try dish when you are in Lucknow. The shop is very famous. Must try it. Highly recommended.

  • Chicken Masala.

Where :- Open Air Restaurant and Lounge, Hazratganj, Lucknow.

It's chicken masala from one of the most famous places in Lucknow i.e. Open Air Restaurant. The taste is too delicious and the quantity they serve is also good. Must try this. Highly recommended.

  • Tandoori Chicken.

Where :- Tunday Kababi, Saharaganj Mall, Hazratganj, Lucknow.

Tandoori chicken is a chicken dish prepared by roasting chicken marinated in yogurt and spices in a tandoor, a cylindrical clay ovan. The dish originated from the indian subcontinent and is popular in many other parts of the world. Do try this chicken at Tunday Kababi. Highly recommended.

  • Nihari.

Where :- Rahim's, Akbari Gate, Chowk Bazar, Lucknow.

The Nihari, in which the mutton is served in a flavorful gravy. The restaurant is a 125 year old restaurant which is still the best place for Nihari. If you are in Lucknow and a non-veg lover, this place is a must try.

  • Chicken Biryani.

Where :- Wahid Biryani, Aminabad, Lucknow.

Wahid Biryani is an Awadhi rice dish made with the combination of 55 spices packets of ingredients, and all those ingredients are the elegance of this biryani. Must try the biryani at this place. Highly recommended.

  • Mutton Korma.

Where :- Idris ki Biryani, Pata Nala Police Station, Raja Bazar, Chowk, Lucknow.

  • Fish Tikka.

Where :- Daal Mein Kala, Qaiser Bagh, Lucknow.

The taste of fish tikka is too good here. You must try this dish when you are in Lucknow. It is as good as mutton burra. Highly recommended.

  • Fish Curry.

Where :- Sakhawat Restaurant, Qaiser Bagh Avenue, Near Gymkhana Club, Lucknow.

This place is very famous for spicy fish curry. A large crowd gather at this place just for fish curry. The price for a full plate fish curry is Rs.280/-

  • Momos.

Where :- Nainital Momos, Viram Khand, Gomtinagar, Lucknow.

Do try the momos at Nainital Momos in Lucknow. The taste of the momos are very good served with spicy red chutney and mayonnaise, sprinkled with spring onions. Must try. Highly recommended.

You should also try super crispy fried momos and veg thukpa steamed momos at this place.

  • Cheese Burger with Hot Coffee.

In terms of taste, I would term it legendary. Nothing would beat this cheese burger and hot coffee at Exer Club in Lucknow. Must try when you are in Lucknow.

  • Spring Roll with spicy garlic sauce.

Where :- Marksmen, Hazratganj, Lucknow.

The taste and value of money is totally worth. If you love eating fried and spicy food and you are in Lucknow, then this place is a must visit.

  • Fried Rice and Chilli Paneer combo.

Where :- Rovers, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Lucknow.

The fried rice and chilli paneer combo is the best combo found at Rovers, Lucknow. People highly eat this combo in late night snacks. The Rovers in Lucknow is one of the oldest fast food outlet and opens till late night. Must try this combo. Highly recommended. You should also try Aloo Franky at this place.

  • Makkhan Malai.

Where :- Chappan Bhog, Prabhu Dayal Marg, Lucknow.

Winter season starts with Makkhan Malai and it also becomes the best dessert through out the winter. Must try it.

  • Thandai.

Where :- Pandit Raja ki Mashoor Thandai, Kasturba Market, Chowk, Lucknow.

One of the best thandai selling shop in Lucknow available in 2 different glasses i.e. small and big. The cost per small glass is Rs.30/- and the cost per big glass is Rs.35/- The thandai are available in two different flavors i.e. plain thandai and thandai mixed with bhang.

  • Jalebi.

Where :- Chappan Bhog, Prabhu Dayal Marg, Lucknow.

The Jalebi at Chappan Bhog is perfect in shape, taste and crispness, served with some almonds and cashew nuts above it. Those jalebi are made in desi ghee. The price per jalebi is Rs.15/- Must try the Jalebi. Highly recommended.

  • Kulfi.

Where :- Prakash ki Mashoor Kulfi, Fruit Lane, Aminabad, Lucknow.

The Prakash Kufli is 50 years old shop in Lucknow where you will find umpteen number Lucknowites, especially during the summer season. The shop was started in 1965 by Late Shree Prakash Chandra Arora. The kulfi is highly regarded as the dessertarians in the city. Along with their classic flavor, they also serve butter scotch, strawberry, coconut and chocolate variants. All those variants are must try. Highly recommended.

  • Kesaria Badam Shake.

Where :- Chedilal - King of Shakes, MG Road, Hazratganj, Lucknow.

Chedilal is one of the oldest shop in Lucknow which was set up in the year 1922. The number of shakes is served here. They offer thick shake flavours like litchi, mango, strawberry, cold coffee etc. I tried here Kesaria Badam Shake, which cost me Rs.60/- for a glass. A great way to quench the summer thirst. Must try the shakes here.
